Cooperation with North American Centers of Excellence
THE COUNCIL:
CONSIDERING the benefits of collaborating with North American centers of excellence, which are universities and other institutions selected by the Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC) because of their expertise and excellence in matters relevant to the CEC’s work program, and of including the participation of such centers in the work program of the CEC;
FURTHER CONSIDERING the operational and institutional arrangements best suited to facilitate such collaboration, including, for example, the leveraging of funds, the co-ownership or other allocation of intellectual property rights;
HEREBY AGREES:
TO INSTRUCT the Secretariat to prepare a report on the opportunity to increase cooperation with North American centers of excellence through their direct participation in specific areas of the work program.
