CEC Launches New Resources to Advance Supply Chain Transparency (SCT) for Chemicals in Consumer Products
Have you ever wondered what chemicals are present in the products you use every day? From paints and varnishes to skincare and haircare products, access to information about chemical content is essential to a circular economy. Greater transparency about chemicals in products and supply chains helps reduce the presence of harmful chemicals in waste streams and recycled products and ensures that materials reintroduced into value chains are safe for human health and the environment.
As part of the Advancing Supply Chain Transparency (SCT) for Chemicals in Products project, the CEC has launched an online information portal that showcases an interactive catalogue of relevant SCT regulations, tools and initiatives across North America and beyond. The portal also includes three case studies demonstrating different supply chain transparency best practices employed in the following sectors:
- building materials
- personal care products and cosmetics
- electronics
Explore the portal’s resources to better understand current and emerging practices to advance SCT across North America and discover a range of approaches to reduce barriers to its implementation.
CEC Welcomes New Acting Executive Director
We are pleased to announce that long-time CEC Secretariat professional Nathalie Daoust will be taking on the role of Acting Executive Director for the coming year. With more than 30 years of experience at the CEC, Nathalie brings a wealth of institutional knowledge, strategic insight and diplomatic expertise.
The CEC extends its sincere thanks to Jorge Daniel Taillant for his leadership during his tenure as Executive Director from 2022 to 2026. His guidance and commitment have been invaluable to the organization and to the protection of the North American environment.
