2026 was an exceptional year. In addition to the Blitz, I saw and reported more than 170 monarch butterflies and hundreds of caterpillars. There were so many memorable moments of wonder – and always so fascinating: finding an egg or caterpillars, being surrounded by monarchs and having them fly overhead, or witnessing an egg-laying.

Encouraging people to join the Blitz and raising awareness about the monarchs’ precarious situation helps protect them. Everybody is worried about their survival. By joining the Blitz, we encourage people to protect monarchs, we help the environment, and we help ourselves.
