UPCOMING WEBINAR: Updates to the Climate Adaptation Toolkit for Marine and Coastal Protected Areas
Join us on 9 November from 12–1pm EST for a webinar on climate adaptation planning for marine protected areas (MPAs).
Montreal, 3 November 2021—Over the past year, the Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC) and EcoAdapt have updated and expanded the Climate Adaptation Toolkit for Marine and Coastal Protected Areas (MPA Toolkit). The MPA Toolkit includes resources and tools that support climate vulnerability assessments and adaptation planning for coastal and marine protected area practitioners. Presenters from EcoAdapt will share new updates to the MPA Toolkit, including a companion training module that takes users through a basic process of climate adaptation planning, using the materials available in the Toolkit, and a new Spanish-language section. Presenters will also share examples of how practitioners have used specific adaptation strategies to reduce vulnerabilities to key climate stressors.
The webinar is open to the public and will be presented in English, with simultaneous interpretation to French and Spanish available. There will be an opportunity to ask questions at the end of the presentation.
