Luis Martínez Villanueva
An agroecological engineer and graduate of Universidad Autónoma Chapingo in Mexico, Luis Martínez Villanueva has since 2012 acted as the general director of the Mexican Network of Fair Trade Small Producers (Coordinadora Mexicana de Pequeños Productores de Comercio Justo), based in Oaxaca. He was technical advisor at the Union of Isthmus Region Indigenous Communities (Unión de Comunidades Indígenas de la Región del Istmo—UCIRI) from 1996 to 2019 and an organic products inspector from 1998 to 2012. He was a member of the board of directors of the Latin American and Caribbean Network of Fair Trade Small Producers and Workers (Coordinadora Latinoamericana y del Caribe de Pequeños(as) Productores(as) y Trabajadores(as) de Comercio Justo) from 2012 to 2018, and a member of the Board of Examiners of the same organization from 2019 to 2022.
