Through our internship program, we help build capacity for selected candidates by providing opportunities to increase their knowledge, expertise, and skills, while helping them to advance their careers by expanding and building their networks and experience.

Who can apply
We welcome applications from students and recent graduates who are passionate about the environment. Candidates living and/or studying in North America (Canada, Mexico, United States) are welcome to apply.
Requirements for in-person internships:
- A candidate’s legal right to work in Canada as a Canadian citizen,
- A student with a visa for studies in Canada,
- A work permit obtained by the student with assistance from the CEC Secretariat.
Candidates from other countries must demonstrate notable interest in North American environmental issues and/or trade relations.
