Commission for Environmental Cooperation

The CEC Secretariat is located in Tiohtià:ke (Montreal) on the unceded traditional territory of the Kanien’kehá:ka (Mohawk), a place that has long served as a nexus of meeting and exchange for many First Nations.

We recognize, respect and support the Kanien’kehá:ka as the custodians of the lands and waters where we live and work and we are committed to elevating Indigenous voices, knowledge and perspectives as we advance our mission to protect and restore the environment of Turtle Island (North America) from coast to coast to coast for the benefit of present and future generations.
