
Marisol Guerrero
Marisol Guerrero is an industrial engineer, with a degree from the Instituto Tecnológico de Querétaro, who also holds diplomas in environmental management (from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, ITESM), results-based management (from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, UNAM), and administrative skills development (from the Government of Querétaro). She has acquired extensive professional experience in environmental affairs over more than three decades, has held positions in both the public and the private sectors, and currently collaborates with the Automotive Cluster of Querétaro as coordinator of the Environmental Sustainability Committee and as director of the Sistema Economía Circular Querétaro.
In the governmental sector, she has worked as director of environmental control for the Querétaro State Ministry of Sustainable Development and has led projects, including the Querétaro Vehicle Inspection Program and Air Quality Monitoring Network, the Environmental Leadership Program for Competitiveness, the development of various state industrial regulation instruments (the environmental license, the annual operating report, and the management plan for specially managed waste), a case study for the Mexican Pollutant Release and Transfer Register (PRTR), and the “cleaner industry” pilot project for the smelting and chemical industry sectors. Within the framework of the “Cities for the Climate” initiative, she collaborated with the ICLEI Network: Local Governments for Sustainability on devising strategies for greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reductions in different industrial and economic sectors.
In addition to taking part in a course on “Integrated Waste Management in Japan” offered by the Japanese Agency for International Cooperation, she has participated as a speaker at various international and domestic forums.
