Youth Engagement Week 2025 - #YouthEngagement

Join the conversation and support North American environmental cooperation!

Themed “Youth Breaking Silos,” the 2025 Youth Engagement Week (YEW) invites youth from across Canada, Mexico and the United States to join a dynamic series of open-to-the-public webinars designed to amplify youth voices, foster intergenerational collaboration and promote solutions to environmental challenges.

This year’s theme celebrates the intersectional intergenerational expertise and youth’s contributions in North America. Through interactive sessions, youth leaders and organizations that support youth will share insights on the following topics.

This webinar will focus on exploring youth intra- and entrepreneurs’ experiences when working in collaboration with and supported by organizations, including private sector entities across North America.

This webinar will explore the intersection of youth leadership and Indigenous and Traditional Ecological Knowledge across North America. The webinar will feature youth leaders, Indigenous knowledge holders and organizations supporting youth in this space.

This webinar will focus on youth engagement at subnational levels—municipal, regional and community-based—and how youth are driving change through local governance, community organizing and grassroots initiatives. The webinar will showcase successful models of youth participation in local decision-making and community resilience across North America.

Become a Facilitator

The CEC is looking for youth leaders from Canada, Mexico and the United States to collaborate in the design, development and delivery of the Youth Engagement Week webinars. Drawing from their experience, the three selected facilitators will lead one webinar each, support speaker preparation, and co-develop best practices summaries.

ELIGIBILITY 

  • Must be between 18 and 35 years old
  • Must reside in Canada, Mexico or the United States
  • Must be available for preparatory meetings and webinars up to 2–3 hours per week for a maximum of 40 hours between October 2025 and February 2026
  • Must demonstrate a commitment to inclusive and intergenerational engagement

Become a Speaker

The CEC is looking for youth and representatives from organizations that collaborate with youth and support youth-led initiatives to share their experiences and insights on topics such as entrepreneurship, Indigenous Knowledge and subnational environmental action and community resilience.

ELIGIBILITY 

  • Must have experience relevant to one of the three webinar topics
  • Must be available for preparatory meetings and the webinar, between October and December 2025
  • Must demonstrate a commitment toyouth-led environmental action and knowledge-sharing 

For Youth Speakers 

  • Must be between 18 and 35 years of age
  • Must have collaborated or currently be collaborating with or supported by an organization in the past 5 years that would be ready to present their youth engagement strategy and principles during the webinar
  • Must reside in Canada, Mexico or the United States

For representatives of an organization that supports youth

  • Must have collaborated or currently be collaborating with or supported a youth team or youth-led organization in the past 5 years that would be ready to present their initiatives during the webinar
  • Must operate in Canada, Mexico or the United States
