Michelle Benzing

Michelle works in the Peace, Security, and Resilience Unit at UN Women Headquarters, where she serves on the Peacebuilding team as a Programme Analyst on Gender, Climate, Peace and Security. In this role, she conducts in-depth analyses to inform the development and implementation of strategies addressing the gender-climate-security nexus, while also fostering coordination and collaboration among key stakeholders to advance gender-responsive environmental peacebuilding.

Her professional experience spans national institutions, multilateral organizations, and civil society, including her work as the Environmental Focal Point at the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF), with GIZ’s Peace Process Support for Yemen team, and as a Mercator Fellow specializing in Gender, Climate, Peace, and Security, including with the Pacific Women’s Mediators Network in Fiji.
