¿Deseas convertir tus ideas en acciones positivas para fortalecer la resiliencia frente al cambio climático? Súmate a la Reunión juvenil sobre resiliencia climática | América del Norte 2025, organizada por Lift 360 en colaboración con la CCA. Durante este evento aprenderás de otras personas jóvenes que son líderes ambientales de América del Norte y conocerás el impacto de su trabajo en áreas como la conservación del agua, la economía circular y la salud ambiental.

Como participante en la reunión, tendrás la oportunidad de discutir formas y estrategias para transformar tus ideas en proyectos funcionales con el fin de promover la resiliencia climática en tu comunidad. Asimismo, podrás establecer vínculos con jóvenes de Canadá, Estados Unidos y México y trabajar en redes para fomentar el cambio.

Meet the Facilitator and Panelists

 

Nya Lazarus-Munnick (Facilitator)

Nya Lazarus-Munnick is a dedicated sustainability professional focused on climate action, equity, and community resilience. As Supervisor of Sustainable Communities at Skills for Change, she leads programs that empower youth, women, and underserved communities in climate action and green careers. With a Master’s in Sustainability Management, she has spearheaded the Youth Climate Action Initiative and collaborated with organizations like the David Suzuki Foundation to advance climate justice. Nya is committed to integrating sustainability into everyday life and engaging communities in meaningful environmental action.

 

Alexandre Savard – Encore! Biomatériaux | 2024 CEC Generational of Environmental Leaders Program (Panelist)

Alexandre’s passion for solving the issue of plastic pollution led him to launch the Hoola One project when he was still a student. Today, the project has become a booming soil decontamination business in Quebec. After finishing his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (Université de Sherbrooke), Alexandre took part in various initiatives to recycle plastic and produce drinking water from wave energy. More recently, he launched Encore! Biomatériaux to find practical, nature-based solutions to replace single-use plastic parts. — Download Presentation

 

Cesar Bonilla, Dino del Cueto Beato and Mariana Navarro – Amortiguador Riberelo project (Panelists)

Cesar Bonilla, Dino del Cueto Beato and Mariana Navarro are architects from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) with academic experience in Madrid, Barcelona, Poznan, and Tokyo. Their international exposure has broadened their perspectives on contemporary architectural challenges and the need for innovative responses to climate change and urban growth. Their work integrates research with professional practice, focusing on interdisciplinary approaches to architecture and green urbanism, and are passionate about nature-based solutions and community involvement in design, promoting resilience, inclusion, and social well-being. They have collaborated on initiatives combining geospatial analysis, ecosystem restoration, and urban quality of life improvements. Their «Amortiguador Riberelo» project, developed as their undergraduate thesis, aims to transform the La Silla River into a riparian buffer and resilient corridor, reconnecting the community with its ecological heritage and offering a replicable model for other cities. They are currently working to make this vision a reality for the benefit of both the city and the environment. — Download Presentation

 

McKenna Dunbar – Electrivive | 2024 CEC Generational of Environmental Leaders Program (Panelist)

McKenna Dunbar is a thought leader in building electrification, committed to environmental justice and clean energy transitions. Dunbar plays a pivotal role in shaping Virginia’s building energy code and energy efficiency policies, driving the development of equitable clean energy finance mechanisms and community engagement efforts with a particular focus on IRA and BIL implementation. — Download Presentation
