Leila M Harris

Leila M Harris is a professor with the Institute for Resources, Environment, and Sustainability and also with the Institute for Gender, Race, Sexuality and Social Justice at the University of British Columbia. Her work analyzes a range of governance and political considerations, from equity and sustainability perspectives—with work that has focused on water politics, governance, and justice in a variety of contexts (from Turkey, to Ghana, South Africa, and Canada). Recent projects consider lived experiences of the human right to water, and ongoing water governance shifts in varied contexts, from participatory engagement to institutional and regulatory mechanisms, or broader cultural and political discussions on how we understand and value water.
