Kenneth Martin

Kenneth Martin is the Director of the American Indian Environmental Office at the US Environmental Protection Agency.Previously, he had served as Senior Policy Advisor on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, dealing on a wide range of issues under the Committee’s jurisdiction, from infrastructure policy to environmental policy. In 2016, he had been appointed by former President Obama as the first-ever Deputy Assistant Secretary for Tribal Government Affairs at the US Department of Transportation. Kenneth had also worked for the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs for former Chairman Jon Tester and former Chairwoman Maria Cantwell. He began his government service working for US Senator Tim Johnson in 2004. Originally from Wisconsin, Kenneth is an enrolled member of the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians and was raised on the Menominee Indian Reservation, where he is a descendant. He studied Political Science at the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
