Integrated Modeling and Assessment of Climate Change Mitigation Options in the North American Forest Sector

The forest sector is expected to play an important role in domestic greenhouse gas mitigation portfolios in all three countries. This project will examine forest sector mitigation options to meet national objectives for greenhouse gas emission reductions in selected landscapes in Canada, Mexico and the United States. It will help quantify the impacts of various mitigation options on the greenhouse gas balance and consider how the data and tools developed for carbon assessment might be used to support vulnerability assessments and adaptation responses.
