Over the past year, the Commission for Environmental Cooperation and EcoAdapt have updated and expanded the Climate Adaptation Toolkit for Marine and Coastal Protected Areas (MPA Toolkit). The MPA Toolkit consists of a complement of resources and tools that support climate vulnerability assessments and adaptation planning for coastal and marine protected area practitioners. Presenters will share new updates to the MPA Toolkit including a companion training module, which takes users through a basic process of climate adaptation planning using the materials available in the Toolkit, a new Spanish-language area, and a series of briefs demonstrating how different adaptation strategies reduce vulnerabilities to key climate stressors as well as case studies where these strategies have been implemented. Presenters will also share examples of how practitioners have used the training module in their adaptation planning efforts.
Presenters include Jessi Kershner and Jessica Hitt from EcoAdapt.
