The Public Submissions Process on Effective Environmental Enforcement (SEM) under the USMCA/CUSMA/T-MEC

  • Panelists will give an overview of the USMCA/CUSMA/T-MEC and ECA and discuss Chapter 24 (Environment), which will enter into force on July 1, 2020, and cover how the SEM process will differ under the new regime.
  • Recent graduates and current students will give their perspectives on the new SEM process.
  • Panelists will discuss the future SEM—what can we learn from the past and how can we make the SEM a more responsive tool?
