The Chair, Liette Vasseur, welcomed everyone to Guadalajara. Each member introduced themself. The Chair welcomed the new Mexican and Canadian members. She noted the absence of Laura Silvan de Durazo, with reasons, and that Cam Avery and Blanca Torres would be arriving later in the day. She went on to note the importance of this meeting which is being held in conjunction with the Regular Session of Council, and the many opportunities for public input. She encouraged the public to take up those opportunities.
