Appointment of Interim Executive Director
THE COUNCIL:
FURTHER TO the decisions of the Alternate Representatives taken during their session 98-01 held on 10 February 1998 in relation to the resignation of the then-current Executive Director, Mr. Victor Lichtinger;
TAKING INTO ACCOUNT that the Council has initiated the process leading to the appointment of the next Executive Director in accordance with Article 11(1) of the North American Agreement on Environmental Cooperation (NAAEC);
DETERMINED to ensure that the CEC continue to operate normally until the Council appoints a new Executive Director;
HEREBY:
CONFIRMS that Ms. Janine Ferretti has been duly exercising the powers and duties conferred upon the Executive Director by the NAAEC and the Rules of the CEC since 10 February 1998, and will continue to do so until the Council appoints the next Executive Director or until the Council decides otherwise.
