Protection from the Spread of Communicable Diseases
The Joint Public Advisory Committee (JPAC) of the Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC):
IN ACCORDANCE with its mandate to provide advice to Council;
URGES the Council to assure that our three governments, on a trinational basis, take all steps possible to prevent the introduction and spread of either foot and mouth or “mad cow” disease (bovine spongiform encephalopathy) to the North American continent.
JPAC also urges the Council to assure that there be a coordinated effort involving all concerned agencies of the Parties to protect against the invasion and spread of such communicable diseases.
