L'Am\u00e9rique du Nord compte pr\u00e8s de 20 % des esp\u00e8ces d'oiseaux du monde. Le nombre d'esp\u00e8ces est de plus de 1 100 au Mexique, de 700 aux \u00c9tats-Unis et de 575 au Canada. Des centaines de ces esp\u00e8ces sont communes aux trois pays et l'on trouve bon nombre d'entre elles uniquement en Am\u00e9rique du Nord.
