Mexico\u2019s enormous opportunities for making use of renewable energy are limited by the relatively high costs involved and the government\u2019s budgetary restrictions. International experience demonstrates, however, that it is possible to establish mechanisms that, if advanced by the government as public policy and without implying subsidies that would create new burdens on national public funds, could serve to make use of renewable energy. This document establishes and describes the opportunities and benefits that better use of renewable energy would bring for Mexico, and based on international experience, proposes elements of what could be a Green Energy program in Mexico.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
