Working towards this goal of a shared inventory, the CEC began a pilot project in 2003 to explore the availability of emissions data for the electricity generating sector and the feasibility of sharing that data electronically between the three countries. The availability of emissions data has been summarized in an earlier report (CEC, 2003) and a demonstration of a distributed database of this emissions information has been prepared (Falke, et. al, 2004).
