Estos ciudadanos cuentan con el respaldo de leyes en materia de medio ambiente que ayudan a proteger el aire, el agua y el suelo, as\u00ed como las especies que en estos \u00e1mbitos habitan. Con el objeto de crear una l\u00ednea abierta de comunicaci\u00f3n con los habitantes de Am\u00e9rica del Norte en lo concerniente a c\u00f3mo se aplica la legislaci\u00f3n ambiental, los gobiernos de Canad\u00e1, Estados Unidos y M\u00e9xico participan en un mecanismo transparente denominado proceso de peticiones relativas a la aplicaci\u00f3n efectiva de la legislaci\u00f3n ambiental (proceso SEM, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>En toda Am\u00e9rica del Norte hay ciudadanos comprometidos cuya participaci\u00f3n activa contribuye a mejorar el bienestar medioambiental de sus comunidades.
