Held from 30 November to 1 December 2005, the third North American Symposium on Assessing the Environmental Effects of Trade focused on the impact of investment and economic growth on the environment. Eleven selected papers were presented on topics ranging from the maquiladora industry in Mexico to Chapter 11 arbitrations in NAFTA.
