Canada Legislation

Introduction

The Ozone-depleting Substances Regulations, 1998 (ODSR 1998 or Regulations) were made under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 (CEPA 1999). The ODSR 1998 control the manufacture, import and export of ozone-depleting substances (ODS) allowing Canada to meet its obligations under the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer.

Canada has implemented the ODSR 1998 to control the import, manufacture, use, sale, export and certain end-uses of ODS.
