Module Description
This module addresses the importation of ozone-depleting substances (ODS) in Canada, Mexico and the United States. The module provides a general background to the international agreements, domestic laws and policies, as well as the science behind the regulation of ODS. It is intended for those who would like a solid grounding in the reasons why most countries of the world are working together to phase out the use of these substances.
Objective
Upon completion of this module, those involved in detecting and stopping the illegal shipments of ODS will have a basic knowledge of the reasons why the importation of ODS is controlled.
Target Audience
This course will be particularly useful for anyone in the following groups:
- Customs officers and border inspectors involved in enforcing ODS Regulations
