Join the discussion on the CEC's priorities for 2010 and beyond

Montreal, 23/10/2009 – The Commission for Environmental Cooperation’s 15 public advisory committee members will host a discussion with the public and invited experts on environmental priorities that the CEC should consider during the next five years.

The roundtable discussion, to be held on 1 December in Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, Mexico, will be webcast live and will include a virtual forum to allow online participants to ask questions and make suggestions electronically prior to and during the event.

The Joint Public Advisory Committee (JPAC)—composed of 15 members, five appointed by each of the CEC's member countries—will soon publish discussion papers on the general priorities outlined by the CEC's Council of Ministers last June.

Those priorities are:

  • Healthy Communities and Ecosystems
  • Climate Change – Low-Carbon Economy
  • Greening the Economy in North America

More information about the event, including registration details, will be available soon.
