About "7  Contract Negotiation"

During negotiation periods is an ideal opportunity to stress environmental considerations as an important item in the contract. Bidders need to understand that it is a priority. It is by requesting and demanding more environmentally preferable products and in a more environmentally preferable way that industry will have no choice but to provide them. Some federal departments are even renegotiating existing contracts to include environmental considerations.

Did you know that...

In conjunction with Princeton University's Environmental Oversight Committee, Purchasing hosted a summer intern who worked exclusively with the buying staff on identifying environmentally-friendly products. An analysis was performed to determine if the recycled/green products that were identified were currently under contract, or if they could be provided by [their] current contract vendors. Items were added to existing contracts and new contract vendors [were] solicited in applicable product lines. The end result was the creation of a PeopleSoft 'Green' catalog for University end-users to access products manufactured with recycled content.
