À propos de cette base de donnée
The Coffee Certification Program DatabaseThe Coffee Certification Database of the North American Commission for Environmental Cooperation (NACEC) is an online resource designed for stakeholders in the coffee industry. It is intended to provide information to those interested in organic, shade and fair trade coffee labeling and certification schemes. Its goal is to compile the most comprehensive and up-to-date list of coffee certification programs, in order to facilitate the development of more wide-ranging criteria without having to 're-invent' the wheel with each new certification system. The NACEC database contains information on individual certification programs. It allows the user to view the main criteria of a given program or to conduct a keyword search to find similar criteria across different programs. The keyword search provides the means by which to compare and contrast different criteria within the certification schemes-the key to preventing the replication of criteria. This is a work constantly in progress. In the coming months, as supporting work on a common approach to sustainable coffee continues at the NACEC, stakeholders will contribute advice on how to improve this database. How to Use this DatabaseThe left-hand column lists all of the certification and labeling schemes accumulated to date. The certification schemes are divided into major categories of classification. These major categories are in dark blue. The actual certification schemes are listed under each of the major categories in a lighter blue. Clicking on these will reveal the certification or labeling criteria of the different schemes. Selecting the individual criteria will cause the full text associated with these criteria to appear on the right hand side of the page. |
