Karen Wristen is executive director of Living Oceans Society, a non-profit ocean conservation organization based in Sointula, British Columbia, Canada.  She has worked in the environmental movement in British Columbia since 1994, when she joined Sierra Legal Defence Fund (now Ecojustice) to practice environmental law. Wristen holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Toronto and a law degree from Osgoode Hall. She resides with her husband on board their sailboat in Snug Cove, Bowen Island, and divides her time between Living Oceans’ Vancouver and Sointula offices.
