An authority on carbon cycling in lakes, biofiltration and wasterwater treatment, Frédéric Thalasso is a recognized and widely published researcher at Mexico’s Center for Research and Advanced Studies of the National Polytechique Institute (Cinvestav). He holds a PhD in biotechnology from the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium) and has been a visiting scientist at the universities of Alaska (Fairbanks) and Magallanes (Chile). He has published some 70 technical papers in peer-reviewed journals and has directed 15 PhD and 25 masters’ theses.
