This report, published in April 2009, describes and analyzes data reported by industrial facilities in 2005 in North America. And this year's special feature (Chapter 4) presents a more in-depth discussion of releases and transfers from the North American petroleum industry.
This is the second year in which the CEC is able to present publicly available PRTR data from Mexico.
Inclusion of these data has represented a major milestone for Mexico and an important step for the CEC's PRTR project, which is aimed at understanding releases and transfers of pollutants from industrial sources in North America.
However, the addition of a third country's data has also created significant challenges for Taking Stock. Therefore, this year's report features some important changes in the presentation of PRTR data.
